SHOULD BRITISH TROOPS BE MERGED INTO AN EU ARMY?Thursday July 3,2008 THE prospect of British troops fighting in a Euro Army came a step closer yesterday as Foreign Secretary David Miliband threw his weight behind a French military blueprint. He backed French President Nicolas Sarkozy’s scheme to beef up the European Union’s military structure.
His support means British soldiers could be handed to the EU and sent into action by EU generals. Mr Miliband warned that without a Euro-force, the EU would always have to wait “impotently” for America to intervene in a crisis. WE WANT TO KNOW WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT AN EU SUPER ARMY.
