Lech Kaczynski said the Irish “no” vote had sunk plans for Brussels to have even more power over foreign policy, social affairs and border controls in the 27 EU countries.
He added: “For the time being the question of the Treaty is pointless.” *** VOTE NOW: SHOULD BRITAIN LEAVE THE EU? *** His comments are a blow to French president Nicolas Sarkozy, coming just hours after he started his six-month term chairing the EU. But his words were warmly greeted by the Tories.
