MAN IN COURT OVER FERGUSON 'ATTACK'

Wednesday September 12,2007

A man is due to appear in court charged in connection with an alleged attack on Sir Alex Ferguson.

The Manchester United manager was allegedly attacked by a man at Euston station at about 4.30pm on Monday after travelling by train to London.

British Transport Police were called to the scene.

A BTP spokesman confirmed that one of the alleged victims was Sir Alex and said he received injuries to his leg.

The Manchester United manager is not believed to have been badly hurt and attended a function in the capital as planned.

A 40-year-old man will appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court in central London, charged with one count of actual bodily harm, one count of assault and one public order offence.
