MIGRANTS 'WON'T LEAVE'
By Tom Whitehead, Home Affairs Correspondent
ONE in four Eastern European migrants will never return home – thanks to Labour’s open-door policy.
A study has revealed that the number of those who flocked from the former Eastern Bloc, and now want to settle in Britain, has increased fourfold.
It could mean that hundreds of thousands of supposedly-temporary workers who arrived after Tony Blair threw open our labour market will now stay here.
The trend will raise fresh fears over pressure on communities and public services. It makes a mockery of the Government’s insistence that many workers from the former Eastern Bloc will stay only for short periods.
A member of the influential Commons Home Affairs Select Committee, Tory MP James Clappison, said: “While the Eastern Europeans are hard-working people who make a contribution, all of this immigration adds to the pressure on housing and public services.

I hope to squeeze as much money as possible out of this country

“The Government has failed to properly research and plan for the immigration that has taken place.”
A survey of Eastern European migrants in late 2004 found that 25 per cent planned to settle permanently, compared to only six per cent who had planned to do so when they first arrived.
The study, for the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, was based on migrants who had already been in Britain for several months before the EU expanded.
But if a similar pattern is followed among the 850,000 who have come since Labour gave free access to the jobs market, it would mean more than 200,000 never going back.
The report says: “It is clear that migrants frequently adjust and readjust their plans, deciding to stay for longer periods than they originally intended.”
In a blow to the Government’s insistence that migrant workers must benefit the economy, the research also showed that those here temporarily send a quarter of their savings back home.
One Polish interviewee said: “I hope to squeeze as much as possible out of this country and then dump it like an unloved mistress.”
A Lithuanian man who planned to stay said he wanted better education and opportunities for his children, adding: “Besides, we will earn a decent pension.”
The report concludes: “Any choices in relation to policy intervention cannot be premised solely on the migrants’ permanent or temporary immigration status on arrival.”
A spokesman for Migrationwatch UK said: “The anecdotal evidence was that there were far more people staying longer than a year.
“And so many people have come that they are likely to feel more settled because they have friends and family around them. It puts a lot of strain on the infrastructure, such as housing and schools.”
A Home Office spokesman said: “The Government supports legal migration to the UK. However, there are legitimate concerns about managing some effects of migration on communities. The Government is listening to these concerns.”

Well considering that New Labour are likely to be well and truly kicked out in 2009, I wonder how the migrants will view the situation then ?

i'VE JUST HAD ANOTHER IDEA, WHY NOT INVITE ALL OUR HOMELESS FAMILIES AND THE GROWING NUMBER OF UNEMPLOYED TO TAKE A LONG HOLIDAY IN THESE EAST EUROPEAN COUNTRIES SUCH AS BULGARIA, UGOSLAVIA AND POLAND, AND WHEN THEY GET THERE DEMAND THAT THEIR GOVERNMENT PROVIDE THEM WITH A NICE WARM HOUSE TO LIVE IN, SOCIAL BENEFITS AND HANDOUTS FOR THEM AND THEIR KIDDIES FOR AS LONG AS THEY WISH TO STAY, FREE MEDICAL AND HOSPITAL FACILITIES AND A GAURANTEED WARM FRIENDLY WELCOME FROM ALL THEIR NATIONALS? WELL, IT'S ONLY A REDICULOUS SUGGESTION, I MEAN 'UN-FUNNY' JOKE!!!!

MIGRANTS WON'T LEAVE? THE SECRET IS TO NOT LET THEM ENTER IN THE FIRST PLACE WHEN THEY ARRIVE AT THE DOCKS AND AIRPORTS! TURN THEM ROUND AND SEND THEM PACKING BACK TO WHERE THEY CAME FROM! ACCORDING TO A SENSUS (BY GOD KNOWS WHO) ABOUT 39% OF THE POPULATION WELCOME THEM INTO THIS COUNTRY, THAT IS TO SAY THAT "TWO THIRDS" DON'T WANT THEM HERE AND QUITE HONESTLY I BELIEVE THERE'S A LOT MORE THAN THAT WHO ARE FED UP SEEING THEM!
COME TO THINK OF IT, I WONDER HOW MANY OF THOSE QUESTIONED IN THE OPINION POLL WERE NONE WHITE, NONE BRITISH?
ALROY.
SICK OF SEEING THEM!

MIGRANTS WONT LEAVE

Well if they won’t leave, I suggest we make them and some of our own lot take a long walk on a short pier, preferably starting with one out of the House of Lords, and using lands end as the exit point. After all there is no shortage of “planks” in this country, and being tethered to lands end just about sums up the right place and the patience of English people in this country at the moment especialy mine.
