BOY REMANDED ON YOUTH MURDER CHARGE

Saturday May 26,2007

A 15-year-old boy has appeared in court charged with the murder of 16-year-old schoolboy Sam Brown.

The youngster, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Blackpool Magistrates' Court in connection with the fatal attack. He was remanded in custody and will appear at Blackpool Youth Court on Thursday

The youth is also charged with the attempted murder of a 26-year-old man, who was also injured in the attack on a council estate in the town.

Sam died from a single stab wound to the chest in the attack at 4am on Monday, just yards from his home in Cockerham Walk on the Grange Park Estate in Blackpool, Lancashire.

He was due to start his GCSE exams the day after he was stabbed to death.

The teenage suspect spoke only to confirm his name and personal details during the 45-minute hearing.

An 18-year-old man also arrested in connection with the attack is still being questioned by detectives.

Sam, described by neighbours as a "decent lad", was a pupil at St Mary's Catholic College and was hoping to train as a plumber after finishing his GCSEs.

He had recently taken a part-time job in a supermarket and lived with his mother Pat, who is in her forties, and two brothers, Joe, in his twenties, and Harry, 13.

HAPPY IN CLAPPY LAND

26.05.07, 8:13pm

In March 2003, Deputy Prime Minister, John Prescott, announced a new award for Sustainable Communities. Here are some of his definitions of what a sustainable community should be: “Sustainable communities… meet the diverse needs of existing and future residents.
They are safe and inclusive”. “Sustainable communities are diverse… inclusive… tolerant and cohesive”. “Sustainable communities offer: tolerance, respect and engagement with people from different cultures, background and beliefs”. “Sustainable communities offer: social inclusion”. “Sustainable communities enable inclusive, active and effective participation by individuals and organisations”. “Sustainable communities enable a strong, inclusive, community and voluntary sector”. “Sustainable communities respect the rights and aspirations of others, both neighbouring communities, and across the wider world.” John Prescott’s Award for Sustainable Communities 2005, fighting off 255 other aspirants to the title in the process, went to Blackpool's Grange Park Estate. Prescott said: "Thanks to their energy and commitment, (the people of Grange Park) have found new security and confidence in the place where they live." I wonder whether the 15-year-old who murdered Sam was a
"tolerant", "respectful", "differently cultured" young lad with an "inclusive" "background and beliefs” somewhat at odds to Sam's own? In an age where we must all be happy in Clappy Land, I don't think we'll be finding out any time soon. Those who don't like me pointing out this kind of stuff to the rest of you hacked my website (iamanenglishman) on Thursday. Now, I have only 5 pages left of more than 5,000 which were available to view on Wednesday. It's a big, big war were involved in here, folks.

NO DETERRENT WHAT DO YOU EXPECT!

26.05.07, 11:36am

Discipline was outlawed in the UK by the PC Brigade when this child was born his crimes have probably escalated along with PC excuses for his behaviour!

Like the thirteen year old that put a pencil sharpener blade in the end of a biro and cut down my son's back from top to bottom he did not even know my son, "He is a troubled lad so we cannot prosecute!" I was told.

When I asked if he would at least receive therapy I was informed "No just a caution!"

Can we really be surprised at the number of child killers in the UK!
