She was offered two £500,000 deals to take part in ITV’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, and Gordon Ramsay’s cooking extravaganza Hell’s Kitchen.

Those close to Kate say the 25-year-old would never dream of doing anything that would embarrass William and the rest of the Royal Family and she will never cash in on her connection by going on TV.

However, behaviour experts say there might be something more to her decision.

“No matter how discreet and appropriate anyone sets out to be, it is very easy to say something you might later regret and once it’s said, that’s it,” said relationship psychologist Paula Hall.

“For Kate to appear on TV in this way would definitely result in burning bridges – ­preventing a new relationship taking shape or stopping a return to the old one.
