Parkers answers your questions on Ford cars

Q My daughter's looking at a 00W Ford Ka 1. 3 Collection.
It looks in good condition inside and out, but is there anything specific to watch out for?

A The Ka is reliable and more fun to drive than most superminis. Many have been used as garage courtesy cars, so check the overall condition carefully; fuel gauges can be erratic and leaks are known through the door and windscreen seals. The car that your daughter is looking at should be priced around £2,250 in a private sale in good condition and £2,550 from a dealer.

Q I'm keen on the Ford Focus , and have heard that Ford is to launch a convertible version this year. Is it true?

A Yes, it is. Ford reckons that the Focus CoupeCabriolet will match day-to-day practicality with luxurious style and comfort. It has been designed with help from Pininfarina, which is better known for Ferraris, and it has a stylish folding hardtop roof that gives you the option of a Coupe or a Cabriolet at the push of a button. This versatility, combined with excellent handling and a reasonable price tag, should make it popular on its launch late this summer.

Q I'VE got a T-plate 1. 3-litre Ford Ka. Any idea what I could get for it?

A PROVEN technology hides under the Ka's funky design and the low prices make it a popular first buy, town car or weekend runabout. This puts a Ka on many buyers' hit lists.
so you should have no trouble shifting it. A full service history will help maximise its value.
Based on an average mileage for a T-reg (60,000 miles), price your Ka at about £1,600 if it's in good condition. If you're looking to part-exchange, expect to be offered around £1,350.
