HOW THESE CATS CHEATED DEATH...
SURVIVORS: Gizmo (left) and sister Tootsie

AT FIRST glance, this cute pair seem like your average cats.
But in reality, these furry felines are lucky to be alive.
Because Gizmo and Tootsie, who live with their owner in Scotland, have together been shot at six times.
In the space of just one month, the brother and sister nearly lost all their nine lives when they were separately targeted by a thug wielding an air rifle while out for a stroll around the neighbourhood.
Six-year-old Gizmo, who today only has one eye, was shot with two airgun pellets which were lodged in his abdomen and left leg.

Luckily he managed to make his way back home where his owners rushed him to the vets, but just a few weeks later his sister Tootsie became a victim too.
The three-year-old was attacked by four pellets; one which fractured her left leg, another on the side of her chest and two lodged between her right knee and hip.
Tootsie didn't make it home but was later found by her owners after going missing and had to undergo two serious operations - funded by veterinary charity PDSA.

But miraculously, the jet black duo have survived with a couple of their lives left and are set to make a full recovery.
Owner Eileen Leckie (pictured) said: “It’s been heartbreaking to see Gizmo and Tootsie
go through the same ordeal.
"Luckily both survived but it was very
close. Animals are defenceless; they can’t speak up for themselves. I
would urge anyone buying or using airguns or similar items to be
careful. "

Whatever goes through the heads of beings that shoot at humans and animals beggars belief - How they become in charge of guns I cannot understand - Many is the time we have had to remove pellets out of cats - one particularly nasty one I remember was a cats behind splattered with pellets from a gun - It took the whole of an evening to extract them. Good luck and kisses to Gizmo and Tootsie Eileen you have two beautiful cats may they live happy long lives. The times I hear of things like this and see it - I still cry.
