BEES TO FINISH ABANDONED MATCH

Story Image

Monday October 6,2008

COVENTRY Buildbase Bees return to Manchester today to complete the final fixture of their Elite League season - and will be hoping to beat the weather on this occasion.

The match was abandoned due to rain in early September with Bees holding a 14-10 lead after four races, and then postponed last Monday because of more wet conditions.

And it has become a vital fixture for the hosts, as Belle Vue need to win the match in order to move above Peterborough and out of the relegation race-off against Wolverhampton.

Bees, who will definitely finish sixth in the Elite League, hope to welcome back skipper Chris Harris after he was injured in a crash prior to last weekend's Italian Grand Prix.

They will, though, be without Filip Sitera due to a prior commitment in the Czech Republic, and plans to utilise club asset Josh Auty have had to be shelved because of Redcar's hastily re-arranged fixture at Reading.

Bees will therefore confirm their team news on Monday morning - and No.1 Hans Andersen will be looking to keep up his excellent run of form after adding Sunday's prestigious Czech Golden Helmet title to his GP win in Italy last weekend.
