HAS GORDON BROWN SOLD BRITAIN DOWN THE RIVER?

Story Image

Do YOU think Gordon Brown has betrayed Britain?

Friday July 18,2008

By Macer Hall Political Editor

GORDON Brown was last night accused of betraying Britain with a “grubby” surrender to Brussels.

Under a cloak of secrecy, the Government finally ratified the Lisbon Treaty earlier this week and committed the country to a new deluge of European meddling.

In a sign of the Prime Minister’s personal embarrassment over the betrayal, the historic step was only made public yesterday – 24 hours after the covert ceremony had taken place.

The instrument of ratification was signed by the Queen, who had no choice. Because Mr Brown had signed the treaty, she was constitutionally forced to follow suit.

The document was then flown in a diplomatic bag to Rome and delivered to the Italian Foreign Ministry at noon on Wednesday.

Mr Brown was last night facing widespread revolt and even the threat of further legal action after forcing the treaty into law without the promised referendum.

* Has he BETRAYED Britain with a "grubby" surrender to Brussels?

SUPPORTING THE EU AGAINST THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE IS THE KISS OF DEATH FOR ANY PRIME MINISTER OR POLITCAL PARTY - BROWN FELL INTO THE TRAP BUT BEWARE ANYONE ELSE WHO TRIES TO COPY HIM.................................

04.09.08, 10:48pm

A new poll for the Irish Sunday Independent has found that people would vote NO by 44 to 42 percent if a second referendum were held.

The poll also showed a SHARP DROP in Brian Cowen's popularity, down 34 points since he was elected in May.

NEWS FLASH!! Cowan is following Brown down the slippery slope. They BOTH made the mistake of supporting the EU against the will of their people.

Politicians need to learn the above lesson if they want to be supported.

your true self comes out again. sure, you may not have a problem with black people, or even indian people (right now), but you really do hate the islamics, don't you? and you have no problem spreading whatever lies and intolerance towards them.

LFDM I HAVE AN ANNOYINH HABIT OF HAVING TO REPOST BECAUSE I HAVE FORGOTTEN SOMETHING

04.09.08, 5:07pm

I am certainly aware of my faults.
I just want to redress the balance by saying that I am sure my habits would be in conflict with Pakistani or Saudi or any other muslim culture. I would expect to have to alter my habits if I lived in a muslim country. It would be a matter of respect.

No one on this forum has had their speech curtailed as much as you. But your mission is to return time and time again.
But you are right that true racism is directed toward a whole group of people eg. blacks, muslims or white English etc etc etc.
I certainly do not fall into that bracket. Anyone with half a brain knows there is good and bad in everyone. BUT and it is a BIG BUT.....Certain groups of people do have a tendency toward certain habits.....no good pretending otherwise !
Muslims DO live their lives differently and that often IS in direct conflict with traditional British culture. THIS HAS TO BE SAID !!!! And if it is illegal then so be it !!!!

"He is a muslim and has his origins in a country where free speech is not allowed. Maybe he has not learned how to value free speech and how to use it wisely."

--maybe so, and maybe that is true of many people on this forum, and that is why their freedom of speech is now curtailed.

--as for me being abusive... that might well be true on occasion, however, there is a difference between 'abuse' and 'hate speech'. abuse is directed at individuals (certinaly mine is)... and yes, in the past (and even currently) i will direct my disdain at individuals on this site, as a direct consequence of the offensive or ludicrous, or comically misinformed these individuals have said (you see, they are responsible for thier own actions).

hate speech, racism and bigotry is not directed at individuals, but at entire groups of people... targeting them all with the same brush, making an entire group responsible for the acts of individuals. things like 'immigrants are parasites', or 'asylum seekers are cheats' or 'muslims are a danger to our society' are forms of hate speech that are directed unjustly at entire groups of people. these have commonly been found in this site in the past, as i know you are well aware. sometimes you have been part of that speech (especially the anti-muslim stuff), and you certianly have never done anything to object to it.

such speech is offensive, irresponsible, and indeed in many cases, illegal.

thus, you are now in a situation where you have lost your voice on here with regard to those issues.

I certainly would not defend Nick Griffin or anyone else to preach hatred so I dont know where you got that idea from.
You know your postings are not always hate free. In fact sometimes they are downright abusive. I do wish you would think before accusing posters of things you know nothing about.
You often ask posters to stay on topic...yet you allow youself to stray from the topic frequently.
I am all for rational discussion and I am all against the twisting of peoples words in order to make them fit into some pre conceived box.
