SIX HELD IN MOSQUE SPEECHES INQUIRY

Tuesday April 24,2007

Leaders of a mosque have distanced themselves from six men arrested for allegedly making inflammatory speeches there two and a half years ago.

The six, including radical Muslim Abu Izzadeen, were held early on Tuesday over statements apparently made at Regent's Park Mosque in London in November 2004.

Scotland Yard said they were detained in an investigation into incitement of others to commit acts of terrorism overseas and terrorist fundraising.

The men, aged between 21 and 35, were held at addresses in east London, Southall and Luton at around 5am.

The mosque's estate manager and head of security, Ali Khan, said: "We don't like it if people come here and disturb the peace of the place. We want it to be peaceful for people to come and worship, we provide all the facilities for that. Ten thousand people come here every week, throughout the year half a million people, and if a few people create a disturbance, it puts us in an embarrassing situation.

"Abu Izzadeen has frequently visited and worshipped here, but if he excites the crowd, we don't like that."

The six men are being held at a central London police station. A Scotland Yard spokesman said a number of searches were ongoing in connection with the investigation.

He added: "The arrests form part of a long-term pro-active and complex investigation into alleged incitement and radicalisation for the purposes of terrorism, as well as alleged provision of financial support for international terrorism."

Izzadeen, a former electrician who lives in Leytonstone, east London, with his wife and three children, is perhaps best known for his barracking of Home Secretary John Reid last September.

At a speech to British Muslims in Leyton, east London, Mr Reid was interrupted by Izzadeen, who called him "an enemy of Islam" and "a tyrant", accused the British Government of state terrorism and said Prime Minister Tony Blair and US President George Bush could "go to hell".

WHEN WILL THIS GOVERNMENT STOPS TREATING TERRORISM AS COMMON CRIME, DON'T ARREST TERRORISTS DISPATCH THEM TO ALLAH PERIOD

24.04.07, 1:45pm

These breeders of hates and destruction should have no place here in Britain be it in police cell or in prison. The rationale thing is to put them out of their misery.

This fellow called Izzadin has sowed so much hatred here that just arresting him now is belated as he would be supported by taxpayer’s funds to fight his case in the court, thereby treating the victims of his evil with contempt. Recent outburst from this wicked Izzadin which I thought the police should had nabbed him he ranted that they are here in Britain to Kill the Infidels, infarct that if you understand jihads, that Islam drinks the blood of the apostate Brits, and this was televised on BBC and yet the government failed to act because it was not politically correct as it would be damaging to their Islamic friends, who always vote for labour. And now labour has fallen low in poles it has now embarked on limited damage by arresting things evil beast so as to placate the indigenous Brits as to vote for it in the election, while assuring the Islamic friends that it should not mind we will release Abu Izzadin after may election. What a political opportunism has this government sunk to. The Home office failed to arrest Abu Izzadin when he ranted against John Reid, even threatened violence on the Home office, telling John Reid, he was an infidel and enemy of Islam, ''an infidel what are you doing in Muslim area'' in Britain.

Deport him immediately back to his original Jamaica and let him go there and try that nonsense and see if he would live the next second. Away with this so called human right, this was not meant to protect outlaws and a terrorists like these maniacs period
