POLICE have today been forced to question a Big Brother contestant after he was ejected from the programme for allegedly spitting in the face of a rival.

Dance teacher Dennis McHugh, 23, was spoken to under caution but no further action has been taken at this stage, police said today.

McHugh was thrown out after allegedly spitting in the face of Mohamed Mohamed during a group row.

A Hertfordshire police spokeswoman told Express.co.uk: “Officers have now spoken with a 23-year-old man from Edinburgh in connection with an alleged incident.

“He was spoken to under caution, and at this stage no further action has been taken.

“Officers will speak with the potential complainant as and when he leaves the house at some point in the future.”

McHugh was not arrested and did not go to a police station, she said.

McHugh has claimed he made a spitting action but nothing came out of his mouth.

Meanwhile student Sylvia Barrie, 21, was booted off the show last night after receiving 90.2% of the public vote against Mohamed.

She remained silent when she heard the result of the poll, before hugging fellow contestants in turn and breaking down in tears.

Wearing a black and white flowing dress, she was greeted with a chorus of boos as she left the house.

She told host Davina McCall: “I was shocked at first but I just tried to blank it out.”

The student received nine nominations from her fellow housemates, and said she was most surprised that Luke and Darnell had singled her out.

When showed her relentless pursuit of Stu, who made it clear he was not interested, the student, who has a boyfriend, said: “I can’t believe I did that” and branded it “pure lust”.

She also said she understood why Dennis had to be removed from the house, but said: “I really got to know him on a very deep level as well. When he got removed I was just shattered.”

Sylvia said she now wants Dale to win the competition.
