SHOULD MIGRANT CROOKS BE KICKED OUT OF BRITAIN?

Should Britain be vulnerable to crime gangs?

Thursday April 17,2008

By Tom Whitehead

EASTERN European migration has piled pressure on communities and led to a “huge surge” in organised crime, police chiefs will tell the Home Secretary today.

The hundreds of thousands of migrants who have flocked to Britain in recent years have had a “significant” impact and led to “new demands” on policing, a key review has found.

Pressure on police resources has soared while a lack of criminal intelligence from Poland and its neighbours has left the UK “vulnerable” to crime gangs.

The damning report will be presented to Jacqui Smith in a key meeting today when many chief constables will demand extra funds to cope with the effects of Labour’s open door policy.

It comes a day after leaked extracts from the study were used to create a positive image with claims migration has not caused crimewaves.

But the full report, seen by the Daily Express, paints a far gloomier picture warning of tensions in some regions, new forms of criminality and more dramatic changes to come.

It even states that migrants may be coming to the UK to “enjoy the support of a sophisticated welfare system” as well as to earn “decent wages”.

Do YOU think migrant crooks should be kicked out of the UK? Should Britain be left "vulnerable" to foreign crime gangs?
