AL FAYED: IT'S OVER

Story Image

Mohamed Al Fayed broke down on News at Ten last night

Wednesday April 9,2008

By Richard Palmer

MOHAMED Al Fayed last night accepted the Diana inquest verdict and ended his decade-long fight to prove the Princess and his son Dodi were murdered.

The Harrods tycoon said he was calling a halt to his multi-million-pound campaign to establish a murder plot involving Prince Philip and MI6.

He also ruled out pursuing the paparazzi through the French courts, even though the jury decided that the street photographers and driver Henri Paul were criminally responsible for the deaths of the couple in the August 1997 Paris car crash following a high-speed chase.

There can now be closure over Diana's death

Mr Al Fayed, 75, declared an end to his fight for the sake of Diana’s sons, William and Harry. In an interview with Sir Trevor McDonald on ITV News at Ten he said: “I’m a father who has lost his son and I’ve done everything for 10 years.

“But now with the verdict, I accept it but with reservations. Enough is enough. And for the sake of the two Princes, who I know loved their mother and how close they’ve been.”

The Egyptian billionaire added: “I am sure they are blessing in their deep heart what I’m doing to discover the truth. But I have enough. I’m leaving the rest for God to get my revenge. But I’m not doing anything any more… This is the end… For the sake of the Princes and for me after suffering for 10 years.

“After long thoughts I have decided I think it is time to accept the verdict, but with lots of things which I’m not approving 100 per cent because the coroner has not explored all the potential to give the jury. I’m very grateful to [the jury] because the most important thing in their verdict is that they mention that it is not an accident, it’s an unlawful killing.”

The flamboyant tycoon, who still clings to the belief that the couple were murdered, has always insisted that he owes it to his son to find the answers to many unanswered questions about the crash.

On Monday, immediately after the inquest jury returned their verdict of unlawful killing due to the gross negligence of Mr Paul and the chasing paparazzi, he seized on the phrase the “pursuing vehicles” in the verdict to insist that those involved in the chase were not just paparazzi.

His legal team insisted they also included, according to eye-witnesses, the occupants of a mysterious dark blocking vehicle in front of the couple’s Mercedes. During a series of meeting yesterday afternoon, they discussed the possibility of pursuing the paparazzi through the courts in France, even though the French authorities have already cleared them of manslaughter, which is the equivalent of the unlawful-killing verdict.

Asked whether he wanted to consider launching a legal challenge to the way the coroner handled the hearing, he said: “After meeting with my lawyers there are still a lot of options but I’m tired.”

Mr Al Fayed clung to the jury’s decision that it was not just an accident but the result of criminal negligence.

“The most important thing is that the jury has come up that this is not an accident, it’s a murder. And this gives me great satisfaction because it proved my point that my son and Diana were murdered.”

Earlier, Trevor Rees, the bodyguard who was the sole survivor of the crash, issued a brief statement saying: “I agree with the jury’s verdict, and welcome the end of the inquest process. I hope that this now represents a point from which everyone involved can move on.”

Following similar comments from Diana’s sons, Prime Minister Gordon Brown said: “I think it’s time to draw a line. I think the Princes, William and Harry, have spoken for the whole country when they say it is time to bring this to an end.”

Paul Burrell, who faces a possible perjury investigation after admitting withholding the whole truth when he gave evidence will undoubtedly hope for the same thing.

COMMON POINTS HERE

05.09.08, 8:10pm

Dr Kelly had injured his right arm and did not have the strength to even cut his meat on his plate let alone sever a vein cutting through his flesh in an impossible spot where even a surgeon would find it difficult if not impossible to reach.

____________________________________

The common thread here Penny, is that it was the police force that passed on the red herrings both in the Diana and Dodi murder and also Dr Kelly.

It was the French Police who claimed that Diana's car was doing 120 mph and the driver was "as drunk as a pig"
It was a petition by a member of the public to the Freedom of Information Act that made the Oxfordshire Police reveal the flight plan and results of the fly by of Dr Kelly's route, showing that he was not there when he should have been ...

Lord Condon sat on the Mishcon note from Diana claiming that she would be murdered in a car crash.

I really wonder if you can still rely on a Policeman to tell you the time anymore... they seem to be implicated in so many crimes themselves... and don't even get me started on Jean Charles Menendez !
The Met Police even came up with witnesses (interviewed on TV )to acttions that they later conceeded did not happen !!

tHE POLICE MUST BE CROOKED.!

ONE CANNOT SIMPY 'DELETE' THE TRUTH

05.09.08, 7:04pm

One cannot simply 'delete' the truth.

We are in an ILLEGAL war.

We are broke as we cannot afford it and all the corruption necessary to cheat and lie about so much.

Camilla Parker Bowles is our future Queen.

Diana the Princess of Wales, mother of a future King is dead and was found to have been UNLAWFULLY KILLED despite a decade of the Establishement insisting it was 'JUST AN ACCIDENT' .

The brilliant scientist Dr David Kelly was found dead propped up by a tree when a heat detecing helicopter had flown by and not detected anything at the time David Kelly was supposed to have been dead against the tree.

Dr Kelly's weapon of supposed suicide was a BLUNT knife which could not cut through flesh.

Dr Kelly had injured his right arm and did not have the strength to even cut his meat on his plate let alone sever a vein cutting through his flesh in an impossible spot where even a surgeon would find it difficult if not impossible to reach.

Can all this be simply 'deleted' just because it does not suit either 10 Drowining Street and the Clearance House?

I don't think so and neither does the vast majority of the UNITED KINGDOM!

The truth will always surface however hard powerful people try to hide it, as the British public is not a bunch of fools who swallow any old thing without questioning it and there ARE courageous journalists who do not crawl around on all fours bleating 'YES' to every order in order to sport an honour or a promotion.

EVERY SYLLABLE YOU WRITE IS CORRECT, PENNY, AND ANYONE WITH ONE SINGLE BRAIN-CELL KNOWS IT!

05.09.08, 1:42pm

... But the shrieking madness everywhere is such a din and cacophony, that hardly one single gyrating dancer amongst us all at the party, realises that the band has actually stopped playing completely, with hardly anyone even noticing it at all!

The whole damn show is running on INERTIA ... and nothing else! But that apparent movement, too, is destined to come to a grinding halt as utter nightmares overtake the pretty dreams.
The chickens are indeed coming home to roost; and mixing metaphors, indeed, we'll see tears before bedtime before long. The savage crimes we have been witness to as spotlighted by Penny, are going to be paid for; right down to the last tiniest fraction ... and not decades from now!

THE REPERCUSSIONS OF THESE TWO DEATHS HAVE BEEN DEEP AND PROFOUND; YES, EVERY SINGLE BRITON BEARS THE GUILT!

03.09.08, 11:56am

The streets should have been storming with furious multitudes in both cases.
What did we get?

... Not one single peep!

... Only a World War will wake the population up to an insidious malaise which is paralysing our brain-cells!

LOOKING AT THE END OF THE END.

03.09.08, 11:49am

We all know there were lies and cover-ups , but sheep-like, we do nothing about it so that it may happen again and those in power will know that they can do as they please with the British people, the Judiciary and the Police as they just have to grin and bear it.

Is this right?

Do we accept this as the new Britian and the new British standards to be accepted by all?
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I think that Britain is looking at the end of the end of Britain, There is a new beginning on the horizon, a purging and revitalisation of Parliament, freeing up and away from Euro domination and costs. A revitalisation of our dismal Crown Prosecution" Service" to a service provided locally by strong , private Prosecution lawyers whose track record is known to the local police desk sargent.
A Country where its servants are not thrown to the wolves.
There is an alternative , but its up to Britain to take it....if they want to.
