WE ARE PAYING THE PRICE OF LABOUR TAX OBSESSION

Tuesday August 26,2008

DISPOSABLE income has fallen for the first time since 1997 when Labour came to power. Not only does everyone feel worse off, the latest figures show that people really are significantly worse off.

In part, the fact that we have much less spending power after taxes and bills have been paid can be blamed on inflation and the soaring cost of food, petrol and energy.

Food and drink has gone up by 25 per cent, as anyone who does a weekly shop will bitterly testify. Gas has risen by 28.3 per cent and petrol is up 27.9 per cent.

The Government can point to global economic problems but the truth is that taxation is the principal cause of our economic misery.

Labour has squeezed Middle Britain remorselessly in the past 10 years, mainly through stealth taxes but also by letting tax allowances rise at a slower rate than wages, dragging more people into higher tax bands.

Since 1997 the Government’s tax “take” has risen sharply. And where has all this money gone?

Public borrowing is at an all-time high while public services still fail to deliver.

For more than a decade, Labour has boasted about its stewardship of the economy. Yet now voters find themselves back at square one, worse off than they were in 1997 and with no prospect of any improvement in their lot.

We can be sure that any promises of tax cuts or tax holidays that are now extended by Labour will be no more than bribes to the electorate. The old Labour belief in high taxes and high spending is finally laid bare.

Am I mistaken, or was there a time (post 1997) when the Express gave its support to the Labour Party?

I HAVE SAID IT MANY TIME, WESTMINSTER HAS HAD ITS DAY

26.08.08, 5:50pm

Westminster has abandoned our Sovereignty to unelected commissioners and others in this Country but mostly in Brussels. These people are a law unto theirselves and their power is supreme at Westminster and Whitehall.
The three main Political Parties, LibLabCon, have no wish, or perhaps no power to disobey Brussels orders. In which case, it is only the Taxpayer who now has the power to recover our Sovereignty and independent democratic freedom. And that only by taking control of Taxation, County by County.
The entire power of Westminster and Whitehall is their ability to Impose Taxation. Let me say now, without fear of contradiction, no Taxpayer
need pay Direct Taxation to this or any other Government. The only Taxation that can legally be enforced, is Local Council Tax. And if you are interested, I'll show you how to control that.
County by **** County, you Taxpayers can change the whole **** system.
This is a revolt against our corrupted system of Taxation where Politicians use much of the money to buy their support. Enough of this **** nonsense. Join me and others, and put this bunch of useless deadheads where they belong. On the scrap heap.
One other thing I have forgotten to say. It is my opinion that Gordon will call the next Election on the 15th. 16th. 17th. of October.
Most of you seem to think Gordon is useless. Wait until the boy Dave get his feet under the table. Only then will you know what the last eighteen, twenty years of Nu-Labour debt and damage has done. You are now looking at more than a Hundred Years of payback time.
Just think, people not even born, will die, and much of the debt will still exist. But there is an alternative. The answer, is in the power of the Taxpayer.
Regards, ATFlynn, "Norfolk's Mutineer"
