High-end mobile phone that gives the iPhone a run for its money

What is it?

The Touch Diamond is the latest offering from HTC who, having made phones for many years for the networks, are now making them for themselves. This handset is the current top of the range and the company¹s iPhone competitor.

It is stuffed from top to bottom with technology, all finished off with a slick 3-D interface. GPS, Wifi, 3G, Bluetooth nothing is missing. Being a Windows machine it plays very nicely with all your mail services particularly Microsoft Exchange for corporate users.

Why do you need it?

If you use Outlook as your primary source of information for your diary, contacts and email then this device will change your life, putting all the data from your computer in your pocket. Add to that super-fast internet access that can also be used to get your laptop online and pinpoint accurate satnav and there is not much more you could ask for.

Verdict

This phone could so easily have been a perfect ten, but it is let down in two areas a slightly sluggish interface and a lack of expandable storage (there is ony 4GB on board and no expansion slot). However, if you are familiar with Windows Mobile devices there is not a better handset out there.
