The Batman actress, whose part in The Dark Knight with Christian Bale, the late Heath Ledger and Sir Michael Caine is her most mainstream to date, says the attention she attracts for her hair, clothes and body is becoming excruciating.

“The amount of scrutiny can be unbearable,” she told us at the film’s premiere in London’s Leicester Square.

“It’s sometimes really hurtful. I’ve decided, in order to protect myself, that I’m not going to look at any pictures [of myself] or to pay attention to anything anyone says about me.”

But Maggie, 30, who models for Agent Provocateur and wowed fans in a sexy backless outfit for the occasion, is not immune to what others think.

“I always wear what I think is beautiful, but of course I have a stylist!”
