After a gruelling twelve-week battle Alex Evans brushed aside tough competition to win Britain’s Next Top Model.

But does an 18-year-old TV-show winner have what it takes to stand among legendary supermodels, Kate Moss and Agyness Deyn?

Judge and former squeeze of George Clooney Lisa Snowdon certainly thinks she stands a chance.

She said: “She’s very special looking and all her pictures are fierce – the fashion world is her oyster.”

The short-haired beauty beat off strong challenges from two other girls in the final.

Sexy hopeful Stefanie Wilson, 22, the rumoured love interest of Little Britain star David Walliams, came close with her girl-next-door looks. But she was only good enough for third place.

And Catherine Thomas – who stood a good chance of winning with her striking looks – came second.

But ultimately Alex’s beautiful face and ability to work with the camera paid off in this fourth series of the American-based show.

So did the show’s winner ever think this was possible?

“Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I could achieve anything like this...but now I have proved myself wrong,” said the girl from Surrey.

Alex wins the prize of a Models 1 contract, a front-page Company magazine feature plus a Max Factor campaign.

But it remains to be seen whether she will win over the fashion world.
