Tacky TV: Diana's boys will be distressed

THERE was mounting outrage last night after Channel 4 TV announced it is to broadcast graphic pictures of Princess Diana dying in the Paris car crash.

This "boys" thing is driving me nuts. Can't we say "sons" or "Princes William and Harry" or if that's too long, "the Princes". This "boys" thing was part of the over-familiar, cloying, sentimental vocabulary surrounding Diana's death. Is it really necessary more?
