I live in Newcastle and the council sensibly has not seen to introduce fortnightly colections, I have emailed them to see. But it worries me greatly that there will be infestations of maggots, horrible little muck guzzlers and rats, does NO ONE with any sense in this country at council level realise that reformers like William Chadwick and Joseph Bazalgette fought and died fighting to get this country to get this country cleaned up , diseases we thought had disappeared will come back in greater force . I have emailed my council to complain that I have to wait two weeks for an old mattress to be collected , heaven knows what will happen in the meantime!, an army of rats could move in.
