Should Brown leave our Royal traditions alone?

UK Royalty appears to be only for sentimentalists nowadays. What does the Queen do? If she is supposed to rule, how does she rule?
What her citizens want is for her to say 'No' to the UK Parliaments dictatorial methods of governing. We would then, gladly, be her subjects, I feel.
